The BPI is a self-report questionnaire, developed and psychometrically validated in a study of 1,857 adults. It has been developed from Bhargav H, Chikkanna U, Holla B, et al. Wellcome Open Res. 2026;10:669. Item wording is reproduced verbatim from the published instrument. I will sometimes use this tool with patients as needed.
